Crispy Balsamic Garlic Tofu

Ingredients

  • 1 package extra firm tofu
  • 1 tbs. bragg’s liquid coconut aminos, tamari or soy sauce
  • 2 tbs. Balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. salt and pepper
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. Press water out of tofu by wrapping in paper towels and placing a textbook (or a plate with cans – something heavy) on top. Replace paper towels after 5 minutes and let sit for another 5 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl, mix coconut aminos, balsamic vinegar, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  4. Slice tofu into bite sized squares and place in bowl for 10-15 mins (or less if rushed *can also let marinade overnight for extra flavour)
  5. Place tofu on baking sheet (use parchment paper to prevent it from sticking)
  6. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until crispy and golden on the outside. (You can also fry in a pan with a bit of avocado oil or olive oil if low on time * note it probably won’t be as crispy)
